For a traveler, knowing which payment method to use can be just as important as having the money itself.

Check the transaction details before approving the payment. Once confirmed, the payment moves through the supported local infrastructure.

Vietnam is still very much a cash-friendly country. Street food, markets, small cafés, parking and smaller vendors may not accept digital payments. So don’t leave your cash behind completely. Use digital payments where they work. Keep cash where it doesn’t.

Do I need a Vietnamese bank account?
